Onboarding Manager, Saunders Construction

Mike Baksa is the onboarding manager for Saunders Construction, where he is responsible for integrating newly hired and promoted professionals into Saunders’ systems, processes and culture in order to develop an industry-leading construction workforce.

Known for both his detail-oriented technical skills and as his ability to connect with individuals and teams, Mike has experience leading groups from across the industry— including clients, industry partners and project teams. He believes in supporting individuals in their careers, moving the construction industry forward and developing a diverse workforce, especially at the leadership level.

Mike joined Saunders in 2005 after beginning his construction career with Hensel-Phelps in 2001. He has construction experience in multiple industries including healthcare, hospitality and research and has held diverse roles including project manager, estimator and superintendent. He has been involved in some of the most technically advanced projects in Colorado, including the construction of Research Complex 1 on the Anschutz Medical Campus and the Broomfield Wastewater Treatment Facility. He is known for his collaborative management style and ability to make difficult decisions under tight time frames.
